Portuguese residents in France
We received a letter from Romainville-France written by a Portuguese woman,
residing there for 22 years, Maria das Dores Azevedo Vieira, who observes that
"…for many of us (Portuguese residents in France) the conditions of health Care in Portugal represents the main and only impediment to our return to Portugal…"
Presentation of the site of the "Rallying for the Patient" - MD
Before a significant number of persons, with a special appearance of the Group of MD's Counsellors, took place on the 21st. of June, 2003, the official presentation of the site of the "Rallying for the Patient" -MD (www.m-d.pt), at the Dom Henrique Hotel, at Oporto.
The Installation Commission of the MD was presented by its President, Vitorino Allen Brandão, who, after making a salute to all the attendance, confirmed that the "Rallying for the Patient" - MD makes its introduction as a " political and original structure, with the purpose of joining all the intervening persons of the National Health System, especially the political parties, to find, at a short delay, efficient solutions for the reforming of the Health Services, without political or personal victories.
In name of the Counsellor’s Cell spoke, based on the MD’s Program, Professor Doctor Nuno Grande who, through a brilliant and detailed dissertation upon the Health problems in Portugal, concluded that "such kind of citizen's organizations (including the MD), may contribute to join efforts for a better assistance of the patients, contributing to more efficiency on the health services". (See the Diocesan Journal of Oporto "VOZ PORTUCALENSE" of 25th. of June, 2003).
